Commercial

I was looking at some commercials online, and I noticed the most effective ones have a storyline (and sometimes a punchline). Do we want to consider bringing comedy or wit into our advertising campaign? I guess that ties back to another important question (or two): What do we want our image to be? How do we want our product to be perceived? What is our 'flavor'?

Just a couple things:

The 'walking' shoes in this commercial reminded me of our idea.

Also, here is the Scrubs introduction they mentioned in class on Friday.

Commercial Music

Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up that I emailed you some of the music I've been working on. I wasn't sure how long our commercial would run, but I can always make it longer. (Right now, it's about 30 seconds of music and 10 seconds of mainly drums at the end.) Let me know what you think!

live footage

here's my quick (and i mean very quick) edit. if we need more stuff, let me know, but i think this will help for the animation.

Shoe Model 2

I redid the model again yesterday to more closely resemble the poster. The legs look funny, but I just wanted them there for demonstration for now.

2 things

1. I emailed the scripts to everyone, so just let me know which you like and we'll go from there.
2. On the website, I think we need 2 things: first being the idea that you can send your own picture for a special order top. second being that perhaps we should have a link that does "About Cupio".

Just thoughts of course. See yall tomorrow :)

Poster

Here is a mini preview of the poster. I'm still working on it though.

hi yall!

So I won't have the commercial scripts up until late tomorrow night. I don't have access to my laptop until then, and that's where they all are. But, before I post them, did yall want to take Prof. Castillo's advice and do seasons changing rather than places? I think that might be a good idea considering we're sort of talking about time when we say that life changes fast (so should your shoe) and all that jazz. Let me know!

Product Name

Hey everyone...just so you know I've spelled our brand like this > ZIPPURS . I know on the sketch I spelled it zippurz. I started on the website and while working on the powerpoint I realized I changed the spelling to ZIPPURS. So I'm gonna go with that :)

Shoe Model

Just wanted to update. I've done some textures, and I've started on the zipper. Here is the textured shoe along with the right shoe:

Hi everyone!

So I need two things.

1. A name for our company. I need this so I can put it the story board for the commercial.

2. If you want us to have that infomercial, I need ideas of what people would say about our shoe, or interview questions or something. I am drawing a huge blank on that front.

Thanks!

Shoe Modeling

I found some tutorials that might help in the shoe modeling process.

Good luck!

First Attempt at a Model

Hey everyone,

I was trying to figure out how to model our product and came up with this very very rough first attempt. There are several bumps to work out (figuratively and literally), but I wanted to make sure we could get the basic gist...

I'm still trying to figure out the zipper. For now, it will probably have to be stationary. In order for it to move, I think it might need 'bones' like an animated character would have.

Swatches

Hey everyone. I went to Joan's fabrics and they has some swatch packs that looked really cool. Here are some scans of swatches I found.

I personally think that they would go well with a black solid shoe and the top one could go well with a red or brown solid base.

Hi yall!

So I finished the "prototype". It is nowhere near perfect but I think it's a good starting point. My camera died, but I'll bring it with me on Monday so yall can look at it.

General Overview

Hi all,

I thought it might be easier to communicate through a group blog since our class is based on this format. A few things to think about:
  • Scheduling: When is everyone free?
  • Product: What do we want to market?
  • Dividing the Workload: Which program do you feel most comfortable/well-versed in?
For me, weekends work best. Thursday afternoons between 1:30 and 5 are also an option, as well as MWF after 5.

In all likelihood, the modeling and animation will be the most difficult parts of this assignment, so maybe we can choose a subject that is relatively easy to model/animate.

I feel most comfortable working with video editing and would be willing to cut the trailer, sync it with music etc. I could also help with the animation, but I'd want to collaborate with someone on that!

How about you?
